All Saints Patcham - Building -98.jpg

History of
Our Building

Occupying a prominent position at the northern end of the old Patcham Village, All Saints Church has a history dating back to Saxon times.  It is built in the vernacular flint which was widely used for building construction in Sussex in the middle ages, with sections of the present building dating from as early as the 12th century. Listed as Grade 2* in 1952, All Saints is the Parish Church of Patcham, Hollingbury and Westdene.

The churchyard is a closed churchyard now maintained by Brighton & Hove City Council. For anyone seeking family records please contact office@allsaintspatcham.org.uk

Friends of All Saints

The Friends of All Saints', Patcham has been established to promote and support the maintenance, enhancement, preservation and repair of our beautiful and historic church and its churchyard. The most recent renovation work was completed in 2020 on the repair and restoration of the fabric of the building and the conservation of the 13th century Doom painting.

Grants are sought and secured to cover the cost of restoration together with fundraising activities and events.

We ask for an annual donation of at least £10 per person to join the Friends of All Saints. There is also a Corporate Membership category, with a minimum donation of £15. Our membership application form is here. All donations and monies raised by the Friends will be for the repair and improvement of the church building and its facilities. To find out how you can donate, please contact friends@allsaintspatcham.org.uk
