The Friends of All Saints', Patcham
The Friends of All Saints', Patcham, has been established to promote and support the maintenance of our beautiful and historic church and its churchyard, including its preservation, repair, improvement and enhancement.
All Saints' Church, a grade 2* listed building parts of which date back to the 12th century , is of vital historic interest and work needs to be started as soon as possible to repair and restore the fabric of the building. We have been awarded a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund of £100,000 towards the restoration which has been matched by All Saints' PCC - another £100,000. The immediate need is to raise a further £150,000 to complete the restoration work and to make improvements to the church facilities.
Funds to be raised by the Friends will go towards the cost of removing the external cement render and the repair of the vernacular flint beneath it, stabilisation of the 13th century 'Doom' painting over the chancel arch, repair of internal walls and plaster and the creation of an essential additional fire exit to meet health and safety requirements, a disabled toilet and kitchen facilities.
We ask for an annual donation of at least £15 (£20 for a couple) to join the Friends. A membership application form is here and information about donating to the Friends is here. All donations and monies raised by the Friends will be for the repair and improvement of the church building and its facilities.
We plan to arrange a programme of events for Friends and to engage with the local community. News and updates about the restoration and other events and projects at All Saints will be sent to members of the Friends at least twice yearly.
